Overview

The Swedish Pinball Open is an international pinball tournament. Anyone is welcome to register for the A division (including the classics division) and/or the Split flipper division and participate in the event, as long as they pay the tournament entrance fee. Friends, relatives, press, general audience and other people not participating in the tournament are welcome to enter the premises to watch the tournament free of charge. Leisure/training coin operated pinballs will be available.

Qualifications: A division and split flipper division

The qualification rounds (for both the A division and the split flipper division) will begin on Friday, May 15th, 14.00 and continue on Saturday, May 16th, 10.00. The A division players will have a last chance to make it on Sunday morning, May 17th, starting at 10.00. The qualifications end time somewhat depends on the final number of participants, but our estimation is that the qualifications will end around 12.30 on Sunday, May 17th. No more entries can be bought after 11.30, and no more free entries can be started after 12.00. The split flipper finals will be played at the same time, Sunday morning, May 17th, 10.00 - 12.30. The A division finals will start as soon as we've finished all calculations, which should be around 13.30. The participants may choose to play their qualification entries at anytime during the qualifications. I.e. a player can choose not to play on Friday, May 15th, and even not to arrive on site until Sunday morning, May 17th. Playing as early as possible is though an advantage, since you can adapt your decisions to your results, and you'll have the time to play more qualification entries. Finals, A division

The A division finals will be played on Sunday evening, May 17th, and the match system is a cup system where players play head to head, best out of three games (best out of five in finals and semi finals). Depending on their position in the qualifications, players enter the cup ladder in different stages. The cup system can be viewed in detail here.

Finals, split flipper

The split flipper finals will be played on Sunday morning, May 17th. The 8 best teams in the qualifications will advance to a straightforward head-to-head cup system, playing matches in best out of three. Read more about the finals here.

Classics division

The qualifications will start on Friday, May 15th, at 14.00 and the finals will be played on Saturday evening, May 16th, at 22.30. If we don't manage to finish the Classic division finals before midnight (which we never have), we will continue on Sunday morning at 10.00. Read more about the classics division here.

Mini-tournaments

During the tournament there will be a couple of mini-tournaments for those not playing in the main divisions at the moment. These are open to everyone, and not only to the participants in the main divisions. The mini-tournaments are:

Set the Highscore - Ordinary pinball play. Make sure to put your initials in as Grand Champion, and the current grand champion at closing time each day is the winner.
One-handed pinball - - We all know you're good at this thing called pinball, but how good would you be if you were only half the (wo)man you are? The one-handed pinball mini-tournament will be ongoing on a specific machine throughout the whole tournament, and the Grand Champion when the A division final is finished is the winner (ongoing games may be completed).

During the tournament, there will be training machines available on site. The machines that will be on the premises are listed here until the tournament starts. After that, only tournament machines will be listed..
